Poultry rest day set for Wednesday
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

Stall operators and the public are reminded that the next rest day for poultry outlets falls on February 25.

On that day, all market stalls and fresh provision shops selling live poultry must suspend business and carry out thorough cleaning and disinfection of their premises.

All stall operators must observe the rest day conditions and ensure that all live poultry remaining in their stalls or shops is slaughtered beforehand.

They must not remove any live poultry from the premises to avoid slaughtering before the start of the rest day.

Food & Environmental Hygiene Department staff will inspect each outlet on the rest day. Failure to comply with rest day conditions will lead to immediate cancellation of licences or termination of their market-stall tenancies.
