Want to know more about Hong Kong's theme gardens? Be sure to visit the Horticulture Education Mini-Exhibition at Kowloon Park this Sunday.
Organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the exhibition aims to promote horticulture and public awareness on greening as well as enhance the public's knowledge of plants.
The event will introduce the department's five theme gardens:
*Magnolia Garden in HK Zoological & Botanical Gardens;
*Peach Garden in Tsing Yi Park;
*Flowering Cherry Garden in Tuen Mun Yeung Siu Hang Garden;
*Bauhinia Garden in Kowloon Walled City Park;and
*Scented Garden in Kowloon Park.
The department has established these theme gardens to enhance public interest and knowledge in plants through systematic planting of various species belonging to different families.
The event will also feature family activities such as crossword puzzles, demonstrations of recycled papermaking and bottle gardening.
Under the guidance of the department staff, children can also learn how to plant seedlings in pots.
