Some 1.5 tonnes of litter was cleaned up and collected at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre 30 minutes after the fireworks display.

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department said there was a drop of 3.5 tonnes as compared with five tonnes collected after last year's display.

Among the 1.5 tonnes of litter, one tonne was collected from the rubbish bins and the rest from the ground.
