*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

About 422 tonnes of litter was picked up from the 14 Lunar New Year Fairs in the territory on the first day of the Lunar New Year, eight tonnes less than last year.

At Victoria Park fair, 126 tonnes of litter was collected, four tonnes less than last year.

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department deployed 200 workers to clean up the Victoria Park fair while its contractors carried out the cleaning work of the remaining 13 fairs.

All cleaning work was completed at 5pm.

Flower stall owners donated 2,569 pots of unsold flowers or plants. Seventeen volunteer teams from the department delivered the plants to 106 elderly homes and 12 public hospitals.
