Over 66m travellers undergo health screening
*

More than 66 million travellers have undergone health screening at Border Control Points since March, Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr Yeoh Eng-kiong says, adding that most of them are cooperative in complying with the measures.

Responding to Legislative Councillor Michael Mak's enquiry, Dr Yeoh said only a few passengers were reluctant to cooperate.

However, after Department of Health staff explained the situation, they eventually complied.

According to Dr Yeoh, medical posts have been established in all control points where temperature screening devices are installed.

Overhead scanners take temperatures automatically

More than 300 overhead infrared temperature scanners have been installed in land and sea control points.

Thirteen infrared fever-screening systems have been installed at the airport and at the KCRC Hung Hom Station.

Health supervisors are on site at all control points to monitor the operation of the health-check measures and conduct surprise checks to ensure the frontline staff are carrying out the procedures properly.

The Health Declaration Forms collected are regularly sampled and checked by health officers to ensure the Department of Health's procedure protocols have been followed.
