The Government plans to consult the public on the findings of the Committee on Review of Domestic Rent Policy in early 2004, says Acting Director of Housing Elaine Chung.
She said on a radio programme that having considered the ruling of the High Court, the Committee decided to resume the rent policy review.
She noted the existing rent policy is unreasonable and illogical in some areas.
The Committee aims to recommend a rent policy that is reasonable and fair, and keeps rents at affordable levels.
