LCSD calls for Community Cultural Ambassadors

*

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department is now inviting applications for the Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme 2004.

Under the scheme, the department will join local artists and performing arts organisations to hold a series of outreach activities throughout Hong Kong.

The main objectives are to promote the performing arts and make it more accessible at district level by inviting arts workers to act as Community Cultural Ambassadors.

It also aims to encourage performing artists to move out of their familiar working environment and make contacts with different sectors of the community.

Applicants should be local non-profit performing companies or artistic ensembles of proven experience and artistic merit which have been active in the past three years.

Proposed activities should cover one or more of the following performing arts forms: opera/operatic singing, dance, music, theatrical art (including drama, mime, magic, puppetry), multi-arts/film/videography. Approaches may include performance, workshops, demonstrations or lectures, and exhibitions.

Application forms and guides are available at the Cultural Centre, City Hall, Sha Tin Town Hall, Kwai Tsing Theatre, Yuen Long Theatre, Tuen Mun Town Hall, Tsuen Wan Town Hall and Ko Shan Theatre.

You can also get them from the department's website.

Completed forms with supporting information and documents relevant to the proposed activity should be submitted by September 19.
