Fun for everyone: Time to join the Summer Youth Programme! |
The Summer Youth Programme is now offering a wide array of sports, cultural and arts events to boost the self-confidence and creativity of Hong Kong's youngsters.
The activities, to be run by various Government departments, 18 districts, voluntary agencies and other organisations between July and October, will also help strengthen young peoples' sense of belonging and responsibility to the community.
To recognise their participation and encourage their support of the programme, a Summer Youth Programme Passport System pilot scheme will be launched. The youngsters need to keep record of their participation in the activities and dedicated souvenirs will be presented to them.
The Summer Youth Programme, first launched in 1969, is a large-scale community building programme organised by the Programme Committee with the support of the Home Affairs Department.
Each year, healthy recreational activities and community service programmes are held for those aged six to 25.
Major sources of funding include the HK Jockey Club Charities Trust, Government subvention, the district councils and private donations.
For details of the programme, please contact your District Office.
