Friday the next poultry stall Rest Day
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department reminds poultry stall operators and the public that Friday is the next Rest Day.

The department said all market poultry stalls and fresh provision shops selling live poultry must suspend business and carry out thorough cleansing and disinfection of their premises.

It urged all poultry stall operators to strictly observe the Rest Day conditions and to ensure that all live poultry remaining in their stalls or shops are slaughtered before the Rest Day.

Stall owners and licensees must not remove any live poultry from their premises.

Department officers will inspect each poultry outlet on the Rest Day, and failure to comply with conditions will lead to immediate cancellation of licences or termination of stall tenancies.
