Students invited to take hygiene pledge

*

The Education & Manpower Bureau will organise a pledge day in September to promote the clean Hong Kong culture among students.

Kindergartens, primary and secondary schools are invited to participate. The pledge aims to cultivate students' social morality by building a clean school environment and encourage hygiene in the wider community.

The pledge day will be launched at a ceremony on September 5. All participating schools are encouraged to take the pledge by organising a signing ceremony on their own campuses the same day.

The schools will be provided with support from the bureau in designing an action plan.

To prepare for the pledge day and organise follow-up programmes, resources will be uploaded onto the Moral & Civic Education website by August 25, 2003.

Participating schools will be awarded a certificate in recognition of their commitment.

For enquiries, call the bureau's Moral & Civic Education Section on 2153 7485 or 2153 7488.
