18 SARS patients in active treatment

*
Department of Health

There were no new SARS cases reported in the last 24 hours, marking 15 days in a row without a new case. There were no fatalities recorded, either.

A total of 1,419 - more than 80% of the total number of confirmed cases -  have recovered and been discharged from public hospitals.

There are 18 patients currently under active treatment in hospital. Of them, six are in intensive care. Three others are undergoing treatment for other diseases. Nine patients who were confirmed not to have had SARS after blood tests will  be removed from the list of confirmed cases at a later date.

Another 22 patients are recovering in convalescence, in preparation for discharge.

There are no suspected cases.
