No new SARS cases for sixth day straight
*
Department of Health

There were no new SARS cases reported in the last 24 hours, marking the sixth day in a row without a new case. There were no fatalities recorded, either.

A total of 1,387 patients - more than 78% of the total number of confirmed cases -  have recovered and been discharged from public hospitals. One of them was sent home today.

Most of the 41 patients currently under active treatment in hospital are responding positively to the new treatment protocol. Of them, 15 are in intensive care.

Another 32 patients are recovering in convalescence, in preparation for discharge.

There is one suspected case.

The last confirmed SARS case was admitted to hospital on June 3, so health officials are confident that Hong Kong will be removed from the WHO's list of SARS-infected places on Monday, June 23.
