Water rated 'good' at 14 beaches

Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at 14 beaches 'good' and 19 'fair' for this weekend.

Compared with last week, Chung Hom Kok Beach, South Bay Beach and St Stephen's Beach have been upgraded from fair to good.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year-round because of poor water quality. People should not swim at these beaches.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
