Water rated 'good' at 11 beaches
*
Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at 11 beaches 'good' and 22 'fair' for this weekend.

Compared with last week, Clear Water Bay Second and Kwun Yam Beaches have upgraded from fair to good. Butterfly Beach and Castle Peak Beach have upgraded from poor to fair. Cheung Chau Tung Wan Beach has downgraded from good to fair.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year-round because of poor water quality. People should not swim at these beaches.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
