Water at 10 beaches rated 'good'
*
Environmental Protection Department

Water quality at 10 beaches has been rated 'good' for this weekend by the Environmental Protection Department, with 21 'fair' and two 'poor'.

Compared with last week, Cheung Chau Tung Wan, Discovery Bay, Kiu Tsui, Lo So Shing, Stanley Main, Trio, Turtle Cove and Upper Cheung Sha Beaches have been upgraded from fair to good. Cafeteria Old, Cafeteria New, Ma Wan Tung Wan and Shek O Beaches have changed from poor to fair.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year-round because of poor water quality.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
