Water rated 'good' at Hung Shing Yeh Beach
*
Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at one beach 'good', 22 'fair' and 10 'poor' for this weekend.

Compared with last week, Hung Shing Yeh Beach has upgraded from fair to good. Lower Cheung Sha Beach has upgraded from poor to fair. Cafeteria Old Beach and Golden Beach have been downgraded from fair to poor.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year-round because of poor water quality. People should not swim at these beaches.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
