Eighty villages now have sewerage connection systems and 40 will have them by 2013, Secretary for the Environment Edward Yau says.
He told the Legislative Council today sewerage systems for 300 villages are in the planning and design stage.
Mr Yau said the Environmental Protection, Home Affairs and Drainage Services Departments will arrange consultation meetings and briefing sessions for villagers.
