The Environmental Protection Department recorded 21 convictions in April for pollution offences.
There were 10 convictions for waste disposal, seven for air pollution, two for noise, one for water pollution and one for dumping at sea.
The heaviest fine of $25,000 was meted out to a company which imported controlled waste without a permit.
A person was sentenced to two months in jail due to failure to engage a waste collector's services and exporting controlled waste without a permit.
