Water at 17 beaches rated 'good'
*
Environmental Protection Department

Water quality at 17 beaches has been rated 'good' for this weekend by the Environmental Protection Department, with 16 'fair'.

Compared with last week, Kiu Tsui, Lower Cheung Sha, Shek O and Stanley Main Beaches have changed from good to fair, while Ma Wan Tung Wan Beach has upgraded from poor to fair.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year-round because of poor water quality.

Bathers should avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
