2 more EcoPark tenancies awarded

*
Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has awarded two 10-year EcoPark Batch 2 tenancies to the Li Tong Group and Champway Technology to recycle waste electrical and electronic equipment and cooking oil. No conforming bid was received for the third lot specified for plastic recycling.

The EcoPark in Tuen Mun Area 38 provides long-term land at affordable rent and has ready land and marine access, electrical and water supplies, sewerage and telecommunication connections, to facilitate and encourage the environmental industry to invest in advanced and cost-effective technologies to process local recyclable materials.

By encouraging and promoting re-use, recovery and recycling of waste resources and returning them to the consumption loop, the EcoPark will help develop the local recycling industry. Click here for more details.

For Batch 1 tenancies awarded in April the department recently terminated the tenancy with a plastic recycler because of its failure to submit the performance bond required in the tenancy agreement. This site together with the remaining Batch 2 lot will be retendered.
