Reduce, re-use, recycle: Director of Environmental Protection Anissa Wong (centre) signs EcoPark tenancy agreements with the three successful bidders. |
|
The EcoPark has awarded tenancy to the first batch of three successful bidders in its phase I development, Director of Environmental Protection Anissa Wong says, adding the move is a milestone in the park's development.
Under the respective agreements, the tenants will set up the necessary plant and equipment to process locally collected waste plastics, waste vehicle tyres and waste wood into value-added products over a 10-year period.
On behalf of the Government, Ms Wong today signed tenancy agreements with the three successful bidders - Hong Kong Telford Envirotech Group Limited, Jets Technics Limited and Hong Kong Hung Wai Wooden Board Company.
"By encouraging and promoting the re-use, recovery and recycling of our waste resources and returning them to the consumption loop, the EcoPark will help to develop a circular economy within Hong Kong," Ms Wong added.
More details on the EcoPark can be found on its website.
