*
Electrical & Mechanical Services Department

Energy saving depends on co-operation between government departments, the public and the private sectors, says Secretary for Housing, Planning & Lands Michael Suen.

Speaking at the launch ceremony for the Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Awards competition today, Mr Suen said individuals should also take part in energy saving.

He noted many Hong Kong building have incorporated energy-saving elements in their designs and ventilation.

The efficiency awards competition will be open for application between January 1 and 20. It was extended to cover buildings developed by or under the management of the Hong Kong Housing Authority, Hong Kong Housing Society, The Link Management and Urban Renewal Authority.
