Signal No.1 cancelled
*

The Hong Kong Observatory cancelled standby signal No. 1 at 10.10 pm as tropical depression Bopha weakened into an area of low pressure.

Typhoon Saomai made landfall over the area of Zhejiang and Fujian in the evening.

At 11pm,  it was centred about 150 kilometres southwest of Wenzhou and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 25 kilometres an hour towards southern Zhejiang and weaken gradually.

Weather will be cloudy with occasional rain tomorrow.  The weekend will be fine with a few showers.
