There were 25 convictions for polluters in June, the Enviromental Protection Department says.

Ten were for noise, seven for air pollution, seven for improper waste disposal, and one for water pollution.

The heaviest fine in June was $30,000, for a company that contravened its licence provisions.

Two men who exported controlled waste without permits were sentenced to two months in prison, suspended for 18 months.
