The Environmental Protection Department recorded 25 convictions May for breaches of anti-pollution legislation.
Ten of the convictions were for air pollution Control Ordinance, six for noise, five under the Waste Disposal Ordinance, three for water pollution and one under the Ozone Layer Protection Ordinance.
The heaviest fine in May was $120,000, handed down to a company for using powered mechanical equipment without a valid construction noise permit.
