Colourful communication: Some of the winning designs of the Hong Kong Observatory's weather icon competition. |
Twenty-four works of art out of 400 entries have been selected as the winning designs of the Hong Kong Observatory's weather icon competition.
The event, commemorating the tenth anniversary of the observatory's website, promotes effective communication of weather information to the public.
Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony today, Observatory Director Lam Chiu-ying said the contest allows direct participation of the public in the presentation, formulation and stipulation of weather information.
"It is a rare opportunity for the Observatory to interact with the public and incorporate the wisdom of the community, to improve on our weather information services."
