Artificial reefs will be set up at Tung Ping Chau Marine Park to enhance the local ecology and protect the park from trawling activities, the Housing, Planning & Lands Bureau says.
The reefs will be made from demolished pier structures and concrete modules made of non-polluting materials, the bureau added.
The works, which will affect about 9,075 square metres of foreshore and sea-bed, are scheduled to begin in July, for completion within two years.
A notice describing the extent of area affected is published in the Government Gazette today.
The notice together with a related plan can be seen on notice boards posted near the site.
The plan can also be inspected at the Lands Department's Survey & Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road and at the Tai Po District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road.
Anyone who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved can submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, on or before May 24.
