Water at 4 beaches 'good'
*
Environmental Protection Department

Four beaches open to the public have been rated "good" for this weekend, according to the Environmental Protection Department's latest grading. Other beaches have been closed for the winter season.

The four beaches are Deep Water Bay, Clear Water Bay Second Beach, Golden Beach and Silverstrand Beach.

Compared with last week's grading, Silverstrand Beach's water quality has been upgraded from 'fair' to 'good'.

As many beaches are likely to be more polluted than their grades suggest during and after periods of heavy rain, bathers are advised to avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.

More information can be obtained from the department's website or through the hotline, 2511 6666.
