Officiating at the launch ceremony today, Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Anissa Wong said 240,000 trees and 14.5 million shrubs and seasonal flowers have been planted throughout Hong Kong.
Ms Wong and officiating guests planted a flame bottle tree to launch the walk, while 150 school students planted 500 shrubs.
People can learn more about the trees from a book entitled Tree Walk at Kowloon Park published in collaboration with the Institute of Horticulture and CLP Power.
The book provides detailed information on the forms, flowering seasons, characteristics and growing habits of these trees, serving as an excellent guide to tree-lovers.
