15 pollution convictions in April

The Environmental Protection Department meted out 15 pollution convictions in April.

Five were for air pollution, five for noise, three for waste disposal and two for water pollution.

The heaviest fine was $50,000 against a company that used powered mechanical equipment not in accordance with permit conditions.
