31 pollution convictions in March

The Environmental Protection Department meted out 31 convictions in March.

Twelve were for illicit waste disposal, 11 for air pollution, five for noise pollution, and three for water pollution.

The heaviest fine was $25,000 against a company that contravened the provisions of a licence.
