Water at 3 beaches 'good'
*
Environmental Protection Department

Of the four beaches open to the public, three have been rated 'good' and one 'fair' for this weekend, according to the Environmental Protection Department's latest grading. Other beaches have been closed for the winter.

The three beaches are Deep Water Bay, Clear Water Bay Second and Silverstrand. Water quality at Golden Beach is fair.

The gradings are unchanged from last week.

As many beaches are likely to be more polluted than their grades suggest during and after periods of heavy rain, bathers are advised to avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rain.

More information can be obtained from the department's website or through the 2511 6666 hotline.
