28 convicted for pollution offences in November

The Environmental Protection Department issued 28 prosecutions last month for breaches of anti-pollution legislation.

Eight were for waste disposal, seven were for water pollution, seven were for noise and six were for air pollution.

The heaviest fine of $40,000 was meted out to a company that used powered mechanical equipment without a valid construction noise permit.
