Water quality at 8 beaches 'good'
*
Environmental Protection Department

Water quality at eight beaches has been rated 'good' for this weekend by the Environmental Protection Department.

They are Big Wave Bay, Deep Water Bay, Middle Bay, Repulse Bay, Stanley Main, Clear Water Bay Second, Silverstrand and Golden Beaches. There was no change in their grading over last week.

Other beaches closed on November 1 for the winter.

As beaches are likely to be more polluted than their grades suggest during and after periods of heavy rain, bathers are advised to avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rain.

For more information visit the department's website or call 2511 6666.
