Hong Kong's official foreign currency reserve assets rose to US$258.8 billion in March, up US$600 million on February, the Monetary Authority says.
Including unsettled forward contracts, foreign currency reserve assets also stood at US$258.8 billion, up US$600 million.
Hong Kong is the world's seventh largest holder of foreign currency reserves based on the latest published figures, after the Mainland, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, India and South Korea.
The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$258.8 billion represent over nine times the currency in circulation, or about 56% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
