Secondary students to get economic anecdote

Budget consultation comic book

Inspiring story: A comic will be published to encourage young people to express their views on next month's Budget.

*

The Financial Secretary's Office will publish a Chinese-language comic tomorrow to encourage young people to express their views on next month's Budget.

Financial Secretary John Tsang today said young people's interest in public affairs should be cultivated as they are Hong Kong's future leaders. The comic's characters deal with financial crisis by adopting a prudent approach for future fiscal growth.

"I hope the story will inspire readers to reflect on Hong Kong's economic situation and the issues we have to deal with," he said.

Each book will come with a bookmark with a cartoon image of Mr Tsang. They will be distributed to secondary schools with limited copies available at Home Affairs Department Public Enquiry Service Centres. An online version will be uploaded to the Budget website.
