2 reappointed to CPA council

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Professor KC Chan has reappointed John Poon and Edith Shih as lay members of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Council for two years.

 

"We look forward to the continuing contributions of the lay members in further enhancing the regulation and development of the accountancy profession," Prof Chan said.

 

The council has a maximum of 23 people, including four lay members appointed by the Chief Executive, two ex-officio members (the Registrar of Companies as the Financial Secretary's representative and the Director of Accounting Services), the immediate past president and other members who are certified public accountants.

 

The Chief Executive's appointment power has been delegated to the Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury.
