The Tourism Board will publish the Hong Kong Winter Delicacies Guide and launch the Top 10 Vantage Points for Viewing Hong Kong Christmas Lighting photo competition as part of this year's WinterFest from November 27 to January 3.
The board today said the guide introduces four main local seasonal dishes and contains restaurant information, prices and suggested dining routes.
It said the photo competition will encourage local residents to share with visitors worldwide the stunning display of Christmas lights in Hong Kong. It hopes the recommendations on the best vantage points by residents will become "must-visit" attractions for visitors.
Christmas decoration
To boost the festive ambience citywide, more than 10 buildings and shopping centres located in tourist areas and along Victoria Harbour will enhance their Christmas lighting with the "Hong Kong Welcomes You" message.
The newly opened 1881 Heritage, which was converted from the former Marine Police headquarters, will also put up large-scale Christmas decorations and special performances.
Entertainers will be joined by 400 students from 20 primary schools for a Christmas Carol performance at Urban Council Centenary Garden, Tsim Sha Tsui East, at 7.30pm December 23.
The board will also mobilise the travel trade, food districts and shopping malls to introduce a tempting range of offers and special packages.
