Duncan Pescod to visit New Zealand
*

Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology) Duncan Pescod will lead a digital entertainment and film industry delegation to attend the AnimfxNZ 2009 event in Wellington, New Zealand, November 5 to 7.

Mr Pescod will speak at the event's opening to promote Hong Kong's creative industries.

The annual event is organised by the New Zealand Games, Animation & Visual Effects Trust to further the exchange of creative ideas and to provide a platform for digital entertainment players to share views on the state and future of the industry, and the technologies influencing the craft.

Mr Pescod will sign an audio visual arrangement between Hong Kong and New Zealand and will call on Minister of Culture & Heritage Chris Finlayson and Minister of Economic Development Gerry Brownlee.

He will later attend a roundtable meeting with the Ministry of Culture & Heritage, the New Zealand Film Commission and the Ministry of Economic Development. He will then witness the signing of an agreement on knowledge sharing and transfer between the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company, Wellington City Council and the New Zealand Institute of Screen Innovation.

He will lastly visit Auckland and address a reception hosted by the Hong Kong New Zealand Business Association to share his views on Hong Kong's creative industry development.
