Innovation & Technology Commission

The Innovation & Technology Commission is inviting Hong Kong people with Chinese nationality who have attained significant achievements in science and technology to enter the 2010 State Technological Invention Award and the State Scientific & Technological Progress Award. Entry deadline is December 7.

They are categories under the State Council's State Science & Technology Awards. These highly prestigious awards recognise outstanding contributions to science and technology, encourage creativity, accelerate the development of scientific and technological undertakings, and enhance national strength.

Two medical research projects from Hong Kong's universities won first- and second-class awards in 2005 and 2007. An invention project received a second-class award in 2002.

The commission has been invited by the Mainland to co-ordinate nominations from Hong Kong since 2002. The commission will form a judging panel comprising experts from relevant fields to consider the entries.
