The Chief Executive has appointed 22 people as Securities & Futures Appeals Tribunal members for two years from April 1.
They are Clement Chan, Florence Chan, Henry Cheong, Susanna Chiu, Vincent Chui, Simon Ho, Richard Ho, Larry Kwok, Edward Kwan, Ronald Kung, Cynthia Lam, Catherine Leung, Alastair Murray, Joseph Pang, Michael Sze, Cynthia Tang, Richard John Thornhill, Paul Tong, Philip Tsai, Frederick Tsang, Stanley Wong and Henry Wu.
The tribunal is a statutory body established under the Securities & Futures Ordinance to hear appeals against specified decisions made by the Securities & Futures Commission, the Monetary Authority and the investor compensation company recognised by the commission.
The tribunal, chaired by a Court of First Instance judge, ensures regulatory decisions are reasonable and fair, and enhances the commission's accountability.
