A delegation led by Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Communications & Technology) Duncan Pescod will visit Beijing and Shanghai to learn about developments in the Mainland's broadcasting, telecommunications and creative industries, and information and communications technology, and innovation and technology sectors.
In Beijing the delegation will call on the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology, the State Administration of Radio Film & Television, the Ministry of Science & Technology and the State Council's Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office.
The delegation will also visit the Chinese Academy of Sciences, IBM China Research Laboratory, the Beijing Cultural & Creative Industry Promotion Centre and Beijing 798 Arts Zone.
The delegation will head to Shanghai February 18 and meet officials of the Shanghai World Expo Co-ordination Bureau for an update on the World Exposition 2010 and visit the exhibition facilities.
The delegation will make a special tour to the site of the Urban Best Practices Area and visit a number of creative industry parks including Hong Fang, Tian Zhi Fang and M50.
The delegation will return February 19.
