The Census & Statistics Department has launched five annual economic surveys for 2007 covering key Hong Kong sectors.
The surveys cover:
* industrial production;
* building, construction and real estate;
* wholesale, retail and import and export trades, restaurants and hotels;
* transport and related services; and
* storage, communication, banking, financing, insurance and business services.
These reports contain statistics on the operating characteristics and structure of different economic sectors for 2007, including number of establishments and persons engaged; sales of goods, business receipts and other income; compensation of employees; operating expenses; gross surplus; value added; and gross additions to fixed assets.
The reports also contain summary statistics for 2005 and 2006.
The publications are available for free downloading here.
After a review, the department decided to stop producing print versions starting with the 2007 edition.
