Building unit sales dip 22.2% in 2008

Land Registry

There were 113,298 sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units registered in 2008, the Land Registry says, down 22.2% on 2007 but up 14.3% on 2006.

 

The total consideration involved in these agreements was $413.11 billion, down 21.4% on 2007 but up 31.1% on 2006.

 

Last year saw 162,912 assignments of building units lodged for registration, up 2.9% on 2007 and 29.3% on 2006.

 

The total consideration totalled $543.47 billion, up 15.3% on 2007 and 64.9% on 2006.

 

There were 4,684,327 searches for land records, down 1.6% on 2007 but up 18.3% on 2006.
