Six new members have been appointed to the Advisory Committee on Travel Agents for two years, the Commerce & Economic Development Bureau says.
They are:
* Broad Vic Advertising Chairman Richard Au Yeung;
* legislator Tanya Chan;
* Associated Tour Vice President Ken Chang;
* Chinese University Professor of Marketing and Director of the School of Hotel & Tourism Management Lee Kam-hon;
* Standard Chartered Bank (HK) Chief Operating Officer Bethy Tam; and,
* Goldjoy Travel Managing Director Freddy Yip.
Serving members Winston Chow, Edward Kwan, Connie Lau, Tommy Li and Joseph Tung have also been reappointed for two years, while Ronnie Ho has been reappointed for one year.
Five members - Sylvia Chung, Keung Chok-kung, Lee Yuen-kwong, Sin Chung-kai and Dr Dennis Sun - have retired. The bureau thanks them for their valuable contribution and looks forward to working closely with the new members to enhance the travel trade's quality for the benefit of the travelling public and visitors.
The committee is a statutory body advising the Government on the regulation of the travel-agent trade and issues affecting the interests of the sector and consumers.
