The Be the Smart Regulator Programme is making good progress, the Business Facilitation Advisory Committee says.
At its meeting today the committee said the Efficiency Unit will create a one-stop shop to receive applications and co-ordinate joint inspection by month's-end to further streamline procedures in dealing with construction permits.
The unit has recently awarded a contract for the development of an e-Liquor Licence System to expedite the licensing process and improve transparency through the provision of electronic services for licence applications and related communications. The system is due to launch by April.
To expedite the processing of lease modification and land exchange applications, the Lands Department has run as a pilot scheme a dedicated team in the District Lands Office (Hong Kong West & South) since April. The initial results of the pilot are encouraging, the committee said.
