The Monetary Authority today referred eight complaints on a licensed bank's alleged misconduct over Lehman Brothers investment products to the Securities & Futures Commission.
They are of the third batch of Lehman-Brothers-related cases referred to the commission. The authority referred two batches totalling 64 cases in October.
While reviewing the complaint cases received so far, the authority identified 3,103 duplicate complaints.
Up to October 31 the authority had received 13,981 complaints concerning Lehman-Brothers-related products. Besides the 72 referrals, it has started investigations into 433 cases and is seeking further information on 2,439 complaints. Another 37 complaints did not have sufficient prima facie evidence.
