Labour Department

The Labour Department has made special arrangements to assist affected Tai Lin Radio Services staff after the electrical appliance retailer went into receivership.

The department is liaising closely with the provisional liquidator to assist the affected staff. Two hotlines have been set up for the affected employees - 2928 6011 and 2150 6397.

The department will register and help the employees apply for ex-gratia payments from the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund. The application form can be downloaded here.

A special counter will be set up at Labour Relations Division (Kowloon South) tomorrow from 9am to noon to help employees pursue termination compensation. There will be special services counters at all Labour Relations Offices from October 20.

The department has also set up special service counters at Job Centres to help employees, and is liaising with relevant establishments to canvass suitable vacancies for them.
