Applications for the annual Hong Kong ICT Awards 2008 are open until September 30. The awards recognise and promote local information and communications technology professionals, and the outstanding achievements of their firms.
The awards comprise eight categories in Hong Kong's priority information and communications technology (ICT) areas - Best Business, Best Digital Entertainment, Best Digital Inclusion, Best Innovation & Research, Best Lifestyle, Best Professional Development, Best Public Service Application, and Best Ubiquitous Networking.
There will be a grand award in each category and a judging panel will select an award of the year. All awards will be presented early next year.
Government Chief Information Officer Jeremy Godfrey, also the awards' organising committee chairman, said the event provides the best platform for industry practitioners who are dedicated to achieving excellence in Hong Kong and globally.
He added in the past two years some award winners have achieved additional success in prestigious international award schemes.
