Monetary Authority

The Financial Secretary has approved Nelson Man's appointment as Executive Director (Banking Supervision) from July 26, the Monetary Authority says.

Current Executive Director (Banking Supervision) Arthur Yuen has been named Executive Director (External), succeeding Julia Leung who will become Under Secretary for the Financial Services & Treasury Bureau.

The authority's Chief Executive Joseph Yam said Ms Leung has helped keep Hong Kong an international financial centre in promoting initiatives for developing the relationship between the Mainland and Hong Kong's financial systems.

Mr Man is a current division head in the Banking Supervision Department and worked with the Securities & Futures Commission before joining the authority.

Mr Yuen has been Executive Director (Banking Supervision) since 2005 and has also worked in the External Department and former Market Development Division for issues in the Mainland's economic and market development.
